“Sandy and I are dedicated to sparking students’ creativity and passion for developing meaningful art,” Pederson said. Artist of all skill levels are invited to join Maudlin and Pederson, including beginners, (and you don’t even need to know how to draw to succeed in this workshop.)

“You’ll be so inspired as you create your own one-of-a-kind art in our studio in this tranquil paradise,” Maudlin said and plans to share her own, unusual techniques, combined with good composition and artistic expression.

Pederson employs different materials, scale and processes in her work. “As I work, I’m searching for that connection — that one true moment — between the artist, the subject, and the viewer,” Pederson said.

Pederson is the author of “Expressive Portraits: Creative Methods for Painting People” and “Mixed Media Painting Workshop” and has served as a contributing editor for “The Artist’ Magazine. Maudlin has been the featured artist in “North Light” and “L’Art de L’Aquarelle” magazines and holds a degree in Art Education.

Imagine yourself with eleven other artists being totally immersed ART for 10 days in southern France.  With award winning artists Jean Pederson and Sandy Maudlin as your instructors, you’ll be creating your own, one-of-a-kind artwork in our studio at LeVieux Couvent.

Sandy or Jean will demo most days, using a variety of techniques and media. Offering helpful, one-on-one guidance throughout the workshop, they will focus on various creative ways that will help you improve the message, composition, and expertise in your paintings.

More advanced artists will be challenged, and even those who may have never painted before will have success using many of processes and techniques. They will be demo-ing various types of Watermedia, including Watercolor, Acrylics, as well as collage. Every artist will be encouraged to work with their own personal favorite water media as well as try something new, too.
