Come and enjoy SW France with Wisconsin artist Rita Carpenter and Maryland artist Stacy Lund Levy. SW France is a fantastic place for artists (and interested non-artists) who wish to experience the culture, architecture and foods of the LOT region of France. Anyone who loves to travel and record their memories in an art journal is encouraged to join — no art experience required! Rita will teach beginning travel Journaling and artist Stacy Lund Levy will teach more advanced watercolor techniques on 1/4 sheets of watercolor paper.

On this adventure, Rita will show you how to use watercolor paints and other fun materials to complete a small destination art journal. It’s very enjoyable and easy for non-artists to do and is a unique way to record your travel adventures!

Stacys teaching approach focuses on techniques and tips that can be used to paint any subject from landscape to portrait. Each studio session, she will emphasize a specific technique or basic skill that she thinks are essential for painting in watercolor. Additional studio time is somewhat informal and organic.

So, come and enjoy the lovely scenes and people of this region in France. Take your time in the quaint villages that we visit, to do some quick sketches or paintings but primarily spend your time seeing the sites and photographing your beautiful surroundings. When we return to le Vieux couvent , there will be time for some instruction, creating, swimming, relaxing or whatever you choose.
