Jessica is an internationally recognized artist, with a YouTube channel with over 22,000 subscribers and is ranked #25 for oil painting. She has won numerous national awards and honors. Jessica’s work has been featured on book covers, magazines and is eagerly collected from coast to coast.  She has been a featured artist in publications such as the December 2016, 2017, and 2018 issues of “Western Art Collector.” She appears in “Put Some Colour in Your Life” a TV show seen in over 16 countries with an audience of over 50 million worldwide. She is best known for her engaging and “down-to-earth” personality as well as her experience and knowledge of 34 years painting and teaching.

At a young age, Jessica began serious oil painting studies under the guidance of Harvey Schroeder and David Leffel. She received her classical training at the Atelier LeSueur Studio School of Classical Art. In the spring of 1997, Jessica moved to the Blue Mountains of Joseph, Oregon, where she became the owner and operator of The Joseph Art School.

Currently, Jessica teaches plein air workshops both nationally and internationally, focusing on France, Ireland and Italy with students attending from all over the world. When not teaching, she is working on larger oil paintings (portraits, still lifes and animals) in her Ohio studio, writing her plein air book and children’s art book, and watercolor illustrating children’s books for Teaching American History Publishing Company.

Students have enjoyed taking workshop with Jessica for over decades and have expressed how much they’ve learned and discovered through the process of plein air painting.  She will meet you wherever you are in your journey with knowledge and understanding.
